December Q&A

We have prepared another batch of answers for you to celebrate the release of the “Fire Walk” update.

General Questions

Will there be a console demo?

Yes, it is planned for early 2026.

Will there be a custom game lobby system like in other Gaijin projects?

Maybe, but not in the near future, we have other priorities at this stage of development.

Currently, cooperative PvE raids are not available to owners of the standard edition. What will happen to this in the future? Will cooperative PvE modes be unlocked through research, or will the game maintain a strict content separation between owners of the standard and advanced/premium editions?

We’re currently thinking about this situation, as we’ve seen the response from the community on the topic. We’re currently looking into a solution based on your feedback and will share more details when we can.

Is a solo story mode campaign planned?

A separate solo story mode campaign is not in the plans. Currently the history and lore of the world can be discovered organically through notes, item descriptions and unique quests, and we’re currently happy with this kind of world building.

While I am displeased about the changes made to the Isolated raids, I can see that you are listening to the community and making changes. I, however am wondering what the final goal for the pvp and pve raids will be in the final release. Is the plan to make them both available to everyone, or will pve still be limited?

The problem is that PvE raids are much more expensive in terms of server cost and maintenance (not talking about that some PvP raids are not playable without other players). We are working really hard, most of the time, to make them completely available for all, or at least have easier and smoother access.

Is it possible that the music from War Thunder and CRSED: Cuisine Royale is included in the game?

No, Active Matter has its own unique soundtrack.

How to refund the game?

This answer is already published in the FAQ. You can refund it if you’ve spent less than 2 hours of time in the game.

Gameplay and Progression

Are shy girls bulletproof?

No, they can be killed with a few (quite a few actually) bullets.

Will we see new attachments in the near future too?

Pistol grips for assault rifles will be our next addition.

What happens to things we unlocked that have now been moved to a later Monolith level? Do we get our tokens back or will it already be unlocked when we get to that level?

We haven’t taken anything away. All items and upgrades you’ve already unlocked will stay with you. If something has “moved” to a different Monolith level, it remains unlocked. Moreover, if a reward was changed, we’ve granted the new one to everyone. For example, players who unlocked the M82A1 now have both it and the SVDM, which has replaced it at that Monolith slot. However, after self-sacrifice and progress wipes, all rewards will have to be unlocked under the new rules.

Do Investigation cases count as secondary objectives for MU advancement?

No, cases are a different type of subtask for unlocking items.

Can you unlock all items in the standard edition? Or are some items behind a paywall?

Generally speaking yes, all typical items (guns, attachments etc) can be unlocked in the standard edition. Though special editions have some unique things unavailable in the standard edition, like the Paladin body sleeve.

Can active headphones be turned off on the new helmets?

Yes. We’ve added this feature in a recent update.

New Features & Future Plans

Will there be some kind of skill based matchmaking in raids?

We’ll think about this option, but for PvPvE mode there isn’t a perfect metric for player ability that we could use to gauge the overall competence of each player. For Nexus - yes, this could be done via mm points.

Will it be possible to convert some tier III chronogenes into other tier III chronogenes? Currently, after death, the player loses the tier of the installed chronogene. After upgrading a chronogene to tier III, there is no guarantee that the most needed chronogene will drop.

We've got a few blueprints for some tier III chronogenes in the replicator already. But for a more direct solution, we also recommend that you try your best not to die! We see tier II chronogenes as the current raid standard and tier III chronogenes as a higher-risk, strong alternative. We’re working on making it faster to regain your chronogene’s tier or slow down its loss, but tier III chronogenes will continue to be risky.

Will there be a notification about reviewed reports about suspicious players?

There won’t be. First, there aren’t many substantive complaints right now. Second, each review takes time and if we open the floodgates, players will start complaining about everyone. We’re considering a weekly or monthly report on how many players were banned (without specific names), but we can’t confirm that yet. Our priority at the moment is finishing the replay system so complaints can be more specific.

Will there be changes to the volume of beacons and safe containers? Now they weight to much for utility items and make a mess in the storage.

We’ve lowered the volume of beacons and safe containers in a recent update.

Will winter maps be in the game?

Yes, creating a winter map is in our plans, and we hope to have it ready by summer.

Will the option to take all contracts for one raid be back? Now raids looks like this: load in, complete a task, extract, repeat. Did you think about adding an option to choose all contracts for the Advanced or Premium Edition?

No. Too many contracts simply won’t fit on the map and the number of possible contracts will only grow. We envision a system where each player has several daily objectives, multiple investigations, plus the standard raid contract all at once. We understand you want to complete everything at the same time, but then only the first raid would feel full, leaving nothing for the subsequent raids. We’re working on contract chains so that over several raids on the same map you will be able to complete a larger story arc,f.e. finding documents, fusing a beacon at your shelter, then carrying it into the raid to install and defend against monsters. We also plan to expand the daily objective limit to four per raid.

Will we see a rework or fix for the bipods ? Right now, you are stuck in ADS and the recoil is hardly reduced to make it worth using.

Bipods should significantly reduce recoil. If not - it is a bug with that specific gun, please report it.

Are there any plans to motivate players to play PvP? Now it's definitely much more efficient to just play PvE for grinding as all the contracts and their rewards are the same as in PvP (except the one that requires hacking mindvaults). (Before the update, PvE was limited by tickets and I think it was fine, but if it's unlimited, it feels like PvP should offer better rewards like 50% more in Monolith Tokens or something to make it worth it.)

Yes. We are working on this right now and hope to release the changes this year.

Will you bring back the previous Replicator and raid system for everyone with unlimited raids with modifiers?

Active Matter is currently in beta, and we’re trying out several approaches and mechanics regarding the overall meta. Thanks to your feedback, we’re already reviewing the number of available tasks. In the meantime, we’ve made one week of raids without any limits as well.

When are the New Year's discounts? I want to buy the premium edition!

The winter sale has already started!
