Developer Q&A: February 6th 2026!
We’ve answered your questions about the number of selectable contracts for each raid, new drones, PvP rewards, and much more!
General Questions
Will I need to buy the game again on Steam after it is released if I already bought the early version on the Gaijin Store?
With assistance from our colleagues at Valve, we plan to make it possible to obtain an equivalent version of the game on Steam after the game’s release on Steam. To do this, you’ll need to link your Steam account to the account already used to purchase the early version of the game. This option will be available for several weeks after release.
Will scout drones receive improvements to maneuverability and flight range?
The current drone will receive several improvements: you’ll be able to load it with a grenade in your shelter, launching it will be easier, and it will be more agile. After that, we plan to make specialized drone types—for example, a scout drone with increased range and speed, and a separate drone for grenade drops.
Will there be an option to equip the fire extinguisher in the pocket slot instead of the weapon slot?
Not planned, for now.
Will the remaining Body Sleeves without armor plates on certain limbs be updated? In a game where almost every monster hits the arms first, armor plates are not an option but a necessity. You’ve done a great job reworking other Sleeves—could these also get S-plates on the arms and other improved bonuses?
The lack of plates is compensated by the Sleeve’s other bonuses. We don’t plan to give every Sleeve plates on all body parts, but we do plan to balance armor with the other Sleeve bonuses.
Will there be more notes and lore? I enjoy finding, understanding, and exploring all of it, but there isn’t much right now. I even figured out the year is 1988—it’s on all the calendars on the island—while newspapers only go up to 1985.
Yes, we’re working on this. We’re planning more content, including on social media, focused specifically on lore.
When will the updated Red Door appear?
In the next major update, the Harmonization of the Multiverse system will return. Keep an eye out for dev blogs for more details!
What direction are you taking with monsters—will you keep increasing the number of common mobs, or focus on interesting, powerful enemies that inspire fear rather than fatigue?
We’re maintaining a balance between regular enemies and new ones with unique features; the Shy Girl is a recent example. But the most interesting “mobs” are other players—it’s nearly impossible to make an enemy as unpredictable and dangerous as a player!
Will you add stronger horror elements—enough to make players want to hide under a blanket?
Yes. The main ingredient of any horror is the unknown, so we don’t want to spoil your enjoyment. :)
Will descriptions of Devourers and Alpha Mimics be added to the “Warning! Danger!” notes about anomalies?
Yes, all new anomalies will be added to it.
When will Active Matter be officially supported in NVIDIA GeForce Experience and the Discord overlay, instead of having to add it manually as you do now?
This isn’t a priority task right now as we’re focusing on a Steam and console release, but we’ll see.
Each time you complete a cycle and open the Monolith portal, it currently resets the audio recordings you’ve found. Are there plans to preserve them after a self-sacrifice?
Yes, in the next major update!
Why don’t operatives’ lips move when they speak in voice chat?
A zone anomaly or highly skilled ventriloquism—we don’t know which one yet. ;)
Do you plan to add map zones that require specific equipment—for example, contaminated areas where you need gas masks and filters to stay?
Yes, we have plans for that.
The notes mention shooting flowers. Are there plans to add them alongside regular Flowermen?
Not in the near future.
Will you introduce measures to combat stream snipers? I want to enjoy the game and create content, but I’m being actively hindered. A simple solution could be a blacklist so you’re no longer matched with those players.
We greatly appreciate all players who stream our game. We’ll try to add features to prevent toxic behavior like stream sniping, but it may take some time.
Are there plans to allow disabling the callsign highlight on the left side of voice chat?
If you’re referring to masking your nickname while speaking in proximity chat—this will be fixed.
What’s the progress on new maps coming like Epicenter and Park?
There is no info from the Agency about the Epicenter, but the multiverse coordinates of the “Park” anomalous zone have been detected, and the day of its opening is near.
Will there be future mini-boss enemies similar to the car mimic? It feels like Epicenter should feature larger or more unique enemies given its role as the “Epicenter”.
Yes!
Will a shuffle/random button be added to the music player? Or a way to skip to a certain part of a track?
Yes. A blacklist will also be added.
Will Nexus battles support using weapons and equipment with additional properties—such as the rare variants of standard items (e.g., “Balanced” weapons) found in raids?
Not at this time.
Raids & Contracts

Will the number of contracts a player can select per raid be increased based on the edition of the game purchased?
No. We don’t plan to increase the number of selectable contracts per raid based on the edition you purchase. However, we do plan to let players gain this option through in-game mechanics (rewards, etc.).
Will you further increase PvP rewards and/or reduce PvE rewards to encourage PvP participation, while still allowing players to progress by playing either?
Yes, we’re working to make PvP raids more attractive for several reasons.
Right now, players can sync queues to land in the same “solo” PvP raid. Do you plan to address this, since coordinated “solo” players can team up and eliminate other participants?
Players can team up in any raid using proximity chat and voice commands, and that’s not considered toxic behavior. However, we’re working on a system to prevent pre-raid teaming, where players join solo raids already with a group in mind.
Will there be changes to daily contracts?
Yes, new task types will be added, and the overall system may also change.
The progression feels heavy, and rotating maps often prevent playing the maps tied to my quests. I end up doing dailies for money but can’t use them for Monolith progress because I’ve already played those maps. Will this change—either by reducing the progression length or letting players choose maps?
We’re redesigning the rotation system for the next major update so it won’t prevent you from playing any maps you’ve unlocked (e.g., maps opened via Investigation, like unlocking Dam through “Anomalous Waters”).
With the reduced number of contracts per raid, “Fragments of Consciousness” is now much riskier—you may not encounter enough players to complete it as they may have already died or extracted, and it prevents taking another contract. What do you plan to do about this?
In the next major update, this contract will be easier to complete—you won’t need to finish it in a single raid.
Will there be seasonal map modifiers—for example, Dogorsk: Winter?
Yes, there will be.
Will post-battle statistics be expanded—for example, showing who dealt some damage to whom and with what?
A death log will be added soon—showing damage type, amount, and hit location.
Will there be an option to play as a monster on Dogorsk and Dam?
Very likely—yes.
Weapons

Are there plans to improve bolt-action rifles, or is their current state final? Right now, bolt-actions feel ineffective—mostly only useful for PvE quests—and even the SV-98 often takes 3+ shots to kill a fellow operative.
Yes. First, the SV-98 will be reworked to use 7.62x54 ammo, which deals more damage. Then we’ll monitor performance and make further improvements if needed.
Do you plan to add new 9x18mm weapons, such as the PP-19 Bizon? Its large default magazine could offset the cartridge’s low power and make the caliber more viable, for example.
Yes, a new weapon that uses 9x18mm will be added in the next update!
Will you add a way to change reticles on red-dot sights?
Yes, but not in the near future.
Will you add a short/underhand grenade throw? It’s often hard to throw one over close obstacles.
Great idea! We’ll think about how to implement it best in our game.
