Active Matter: Activity Report
Operatives! In the first month since the game’s release on Steam and consoles, we threw all our efforts into promptly tracking your feedback and deploying rapid hotfixes to improve your comfort as you navigate the Multiverse. During this time, we’ve released more than ten updates and made hundreds of changes to make Active Matter better.
How have we already improved the game?
Here are just a few examples of what we’ve fixed in recent days and weeks.
Fewer motion sickness-inducing effects

You let us know that certain visual effects were causing dizziness, headaches and motion sickness. You can now reduce camera bobbing while moving directly in the game’s settings menu. We’ve also removed the ripple effect beneath extraction portals and around Active Matter clusters, toned down screen wobble during extraction, and cut post-explosion double vision in half.
Easier navigation in menus and on the map
We've refined the interface so you can prepare for a new raid faster and spend less time distracted by menus during gameplay. In the Missions Terminal, browsing raids is easier, and clear prompts now show exactly when certain anomalous zones open up for PvPvE. We also improved recipe visibility in the Workshop and added the ability to immediately refine unwanted contract payouts into raw resources. Raids themselves became more convenient too: you can now load all magazines with a single keybind without opening your inventory, and hovering over an active contract highlights its corresponding zone and icon on your map so you can find it faster.
Keyboard and mouse support is now on consoles too
Console-based operatives frequently requested native keyboard and mouse support following the game’s launch. Before deploying this feature, we thoroughly examined matchmaking dynamics and balance considerations between different control schemes. Console matchmaking now prioritizes your input device: players on controllers won't be matched against operatives utilizing a mouse and keyboard.
More ways to spend Merits

You can now exchange Merits for rewards even without participating in active Harmonization Cycles! To enable this, we’ve launched the "Fundamental Protocol",which unlocks at Monolith Access Level DELTA. Rewards include essential raid consumables, Prime, Credits, and Monolith Tokens.
New Timelines with familiar gear

Restarting your path to the Monolith is now easier: after creating a new Personal Timeline, your equipped gear is saved in temporary storage rather than lost. We've also expanded the list of starting Workshop recipes so you can prepare for initial raid incursions more effectively, and now your personal Shelter customization remains intact through new timelines.
Body Sleeve customization

You can now customize the visual appearance of your Body Sleeve! We’ll continue developing this feature so you can further distinguish your operative within the Multiverse.
Brighter interiors for rooms with natural light

You frequently noted that it was often too dark inside buildings. We’ve tuned our dynamic lighting adaptation settings so that, during daytime hours, rooms with windows and structures exposed to outside light are now significantly brighter.
Shelter and cover added near extraction points
On Dalniy Island, as well as in Headquarters, Airport, and Downtown raids, several extraction zones have been shifted closer to buildings and reinforced with extra cover. Now you’ll have a reliable place to hunker down and dodge enemy fire before exiting the anomalous zones.
Rebalanced monster behavior

Distorted now grant operatives more time to react: when teleporting to cut you off mid-chase, they appear further away. Firing with a suppressor alerts nearby hostiles less frequently, and Distorted footstep audio has been retuned to clearly distinguish them from a rival operative. Hellhounds no longer spawn on rooftops, and Seeds also give up the chase sooner.
Increased effectiveness of incendiary weapons

Molotov Cocktails, Incendiary Grenades, and flamethrowers are once again effective against monsters: the Distorted no longer retreat from flames and will ignite instantly upon impact. Devourers got adjusted too as fire is now effective against them as well.
We’ve also revised our short-term plans based on your feedback, assembling a list of high-priority features to deliver before the end of the year. This includes interface upgrades, expanded control settings and refined monster behavior. After that, we’ll move on to our large-scale, long-term goals and share an official roadmap with you. Keep your feedback coming, and be sure to leave your reviews!
